1. Hello, first of all, tell us about your beginnings, how did it look like in those years and what was your music like?
~ We started in 1991, a period when Thrash metal and Death metal dominated extreme metal in France. However, it wasn't the style I wanted to play, so I started my own Black metal band. The first line-up was a trio with 2 female members (on bass and drums) that I met successively. A demo followed in 1992, as well as an EP in 1993, but already with a new line-up. In hindsight, I think our music was more basic because it was mainly composed for a guitar. It had its charm too, and didn't prevent a certain pleasure in listening because our rhythms were varied and didn't lead to weariness. As you might expect, we mainly played with Death and Thrash metal bands in concert such as Sadist (Italy), Exulceration (Switzerland), but we also participated in 1993 in a date with Samaël then promoting "Blood Ritual". Our first album "The Lady Rides A Black Horse" released in 1995, allowed us to stabilize a line-up as a quartet, and made us known on a larger scale.

2. Times have changed, I was in France in 2008 when it was Blue White Red. How does it look now and does it have an impact on your music, concerts, fans?
~ No, national or even global events have no impact on us. Our style is not inspired by the news of our country. Hardcore or Punk are more concerned in their approach by social facts. Furthermore, personally, I do not watch television, do not listen to the radio and do not read newspapers, which is to say how disconnected I am from what is happening around me. This exclusion from the mainstream media and the information they relay does not interest me. I have no memory, for example, of what could have caused this tricolor vision in 2008 that marked you. Knowing my compatriots, it is surely a sporting reason linked to football, rugby or the Olympic Games. With the Tour de France cycling race in the summer, these are really the moments that make them take out their outfits and flags in the colors of the country.

3. Listening to your music, you can hear the evolution, big changes but they didn't overshadow the earlier albums. My question is: why is Gorgon still not on the front pages of music magazines, or fans' lips, patches? What's wrong? Unless I'm mistaken!
~ There are several possible reasons, that can explain this situation. We did not benefit from the support of a major label back in the 90s, so, while other bands were featured here and there, we remained in the shadows because our productions were not found everywhere, and the lack of promotion did not push us forward. We had a long break of almost 20 years between albums, and the mass of groups that appeared in the meantime won the hearts of an audience naturally eager for novelty. In addition, the latter cannot support all the active bands, and we suffer, like others, from this plethora of groups that overshadow us, because some fans have set their sights on other albums, because they ignore what we have to offer. Music is also a factor that should not be overlooked, and we can understand that the style we practice is not the one that the vast majority of the public is looking for, more eager for continuous blast beats or productions with a rawer sound. It's not because we believe in our music that everyone has to adhere to it. A spiral then follows, namely that we play less abroad in fests or one-off dates because we are less known to the public musically. Therefore, we cannot show them what we are worth on stage, and we do not progress in popularity. We are less solicited by the organizers who do not see our potential for their bills and our name spreads less quickly because, we are not exposed to fans of the style. We are nevertheless satisfied with our situation, we are not at all moping about our fate, and we continue our adventure without jealousy towards other bands, as it should be.

4. Lyrics - what do they say and what do you want to tell us with them?
~ Most of them deal with themes that can be described as classic Black Metal, but we personalize them with our experiences, our individual experiences and a certain research in the vocabulary. They are mainly stories based on death, the occult, war and the dark side in general. There can be a historical side therefore anchored in reality, or flirt with the fantastic and be more imaginary. Our texts are written once the title of the song is found. It is from this base that we develop what we are going to develop in lyrics. They must be in sync with the music, so we only write what we need, we are not going to stretch the music in order to be able to rant our sentences. We generally do not have hidden messages, even though it has already happened on tracks from our 3rd album for example. We expose various situations, which can sometimes lead to reflection, and this way of doing things suits us very well.

5. Geopolitical question: war in the east and around Palestine. Does it affect concerts and the whole system?
~ No, not on our level, we don't tour intensively enough to be confronted with it. In addition, we don't do politics, so we don't have any particular opinion on these localized conflicts. This year, we were in contact with a festival taking place in Israel, but we weren't selected for this edition unfortunately. We also declined a date in Poland, a country bordering Ukraine, because the financial conditions simply weren't worth it. On the other hand, in 2023, we played in Romania, a country also bordering Ukraine, and it went very well. The Russian band Bloodrain, whom I have known for a long time, continues to give concerts in their country. As such, musical activity continues despite the disagreements of the governments of certain places. It must also be recognized that as far as metal in general is concerned, the area surrounding Palestine and Russia/Ukraine are not major markets for underground or even mainstream bands, so their current situation has no significant impact on the lives of most bands.

6. Thank you for your time, finally say something to the fans, both new and old and those who are not there yet!
~ It is always interesting to be confronted with people who do not know us because, we have everything to prove. After reading these words, I invite them to listen to our most recent productions to judge what we are currently worth. A visit to our past discography could possibly also show them our evolution. On this subject, our current set-lists, which vary according to the dates and playing time, alternate between songs from the 90s and our last 3 albums. This communion of periods also proves a certain coherence in our compositions which integrate perfectly with each other, which our oldest fans already know. We can also be more attached, or more attracted to one album than another, depending on when we discovered and listened to it. Through our different opuses, we offer a wide range to your readers and if they like our style. In any case, new fans and old ones alike, it is a much appreciated support that they will give us every time they listen to us, and if the opportunity arises, that they come and be apart of a live experience, they will see another side of Gorgon.

Experimental/Progressive Death Metal - such is Deamonolith, a band from Poland. Let's talk for a moment about how the band was formed.
1. Hello, at the beginning I will mention that all 5 of you are professional musicians, each of you has been playing for years. Tell me how it happened and why you put this band together?
M: Deamonolith is the legitimate inheritor to Gortal, the band we (Desecrate, the drummer and me) played in for many years. Initially we tried to resurrect Gortal, but the idea fell through. After considering all the pros and cons, we found it pointless and unjustified to continue playing under the old banner. We already knew that a new energy had been born and we needed a new opening. Our goals are focused on delivering high quality extreme metal. We strive to transcend our boundaries and step out of the comfort zones.
D: Major and I have been playing together since 2003. We were actively part of Gortal until 2015 and then spent a few years working with Pandemonium. After those experiences, and with Gortal stagnating, starting something new felt like the natural next step. The failed attempt to revive Gortal, as it turned out, wasn’t an obstacle but rather a necessary stage. Creating music and sharing our perspective on the world continues to fuel our future releases under this banner.
2. You released a full album - "The Monolithic Cult of Death" - great reviews, great publisher, music not for everyone. Why such a musical concept and how would you attract fans to your music and the album?
M: We was overwhelmed with traditional formats of death metal and subconsciously felt the need to create something different from what we had done in the past. There was no purpose to prepare another predictable variation on classic death metal release. We didn’t assume the length of the track, we just let it grow. We finished with 35 minutes monolith monster. This is music which contains of many layers, demanding some effort to dive into. This album reflects our personal and even intellectual development as well. So If you are fond of death metal but also attracted to some individual and experimental approach then you should check our album out.
D: From the very beginning, we knew we wanted to create something unique and unconventional. We left classic death metal behind with Gortal. This album is one story, one track, a cohesive narrative that feels like a short film told through music. It’s intense, atmospheric, and designed as a journey rather than a collection of songs. It’s not for casual listening but for those who appreciate music that challenges and surprises. If you’re looking for something that pushes boundaries, this album might be for you.

3. When reading the comments fans try to look for comparisons to other bands, which is a mistake, because it is impossible to find any other similarities between you. How are Polish bands different from the rest of the world?
M: While sharing the opinion or writing the review people try to compare the sound to the music they’ve already heard. Sometimes it is inevitable and even helpful for the reader. And some of the tips are justified and others are not. We are also influenced by many external sources but eventually we try to combine inspiration with additional elements which make us standing out. We have excess of really interesting Polish bands. They are miscellaneous and many of them we consider as ambitious and worth special attention. We are used to saying that the fundamental death metal scenes are the United States and Sweden. The Polish scene looks in both directions but also goes beyond them. We also have our own reference points such as Vader, Imperator or Armagedon, bands whose origins go back to the 80s and the times when the genre was forming.
D: I like using comparisons when creating music, and this time was the same. When we worked on this material, we talked about different bands to explain what we thought might fit and why. This track was made in the rehearsal room, with instruments in hand – nothing was written down. We just remembered starting with a riffs in the style of Angel Corpse & Cannibal Corpse and then playing something that reminded us of bands like Deicide, old Death, Gojira, Nocturnus, Slayer, Marduk, Dissection, old Sepultura or even Celtic Frost. It obviously contains of Gortal’s echoes and the vibe of '90s Vader. Comparisons are good, especially when one riff makes you think of something completely different!
4. Geopolitical question. The war in the East - has it closed the music market in this direction and what impact does it have on music?
M: The war in the East has no impact on us except for the increase in inflation and the cost of renting a rehearsal room. We have no connections with the Ukrainian or Russian scene. Personally, I consider this conflict external and does not affect me in any way when it comes to music.
D: If you’re asking about the impact, I’ll say this: “War. War never changes.” Humanity is, once again, one step closer to self-destruction. It’s in our nature, like a safety fuse that prevents us from going too far, only to restart the cycle all over again. And if we ever manage to survive in a post-apocalyptic vault, metal music will survive with us.

5. New album - are there any plans to play in Europe and be able to see you on stage (that might be interesting)?
M: Never say never, but for now there are no immediate plans to play abroad. It can change in fact of serious proposals. For now we put some efforts to launch first gigs in Poland this year.
D: First, we want to reach out to people in Europe with our music through CDs or streaming. But one, maybe two festivals in the summer of 2026? Now that would be something!

6. What are your texts about and what do you want to convey with them ?
M: The lyrical concept is prepared as a role-playing drama. It is a story of what people are capable of when faced with an apocalypse. It shows the collapse of faith, fanaticism, false belief of the rightness of one's actions and their justification fuelled by the lie of human greatness and purpose. It also reveals human nature, which struggles to accept its own fate and place in the infinite void of the universe. Furthermore, it also serves as a warning against blind faith in various messiahs and encourages the development of individualism.
D: The lyrics go beyond simple storytelling. They are made to make you think and feel. They look at the dark sides of human nature and how far we can go when we face desperation and hopelessness. Through the idea of an apocalypse, they ask questions about what makes us human, what drives us, and why we hold on to ideas of purpose and meaning. Does it make you reflect, or is it a warning? That’s for everyone to decide. It’s important to see the lyrics and music as one whole – together, they create a complete experience, mixing emotions and meaning into one story.
7. Thank you for your time, the last words are yours!
M: Thank you for supporting Deamonolith and let’s face up The Monolithic Cult of Death!
D: I hope to see you all at one of our upcoming shows … somewhere .. if they happen.

the interview with : Major and Desecrate by Seducer 2025y.

1. Thank you very much for a moment of conversation. Tell us the history of the band, how many of you are playing and how long have you been involved in metal?
* The birth of the band is around of 2011 on the ashes of his old band Nohellia
Excrementiis was the first name but later in 2024 the band's name changed.
2. Your band is quite mysterious with little information. Tell us if you have recorded anything and where are you from?
* Of course, Carcass Excr. recorded a little demo in 2011 before leaving France to Berlin.
Finally back in 2013, he began to record his first album : “La Glorieuse Morte”. But time passed and life too, the album will be released just in 2023 on Hypogea Invictus label.
One year later an EP comes from the doors of stars, with a change name.
Now Excrementiis left for SERPENTIIS ODII. The same entity, the same music…just the same band.
Obscura Natura E.P released on Transcendance BM productions.
The Band comes from the south of France.

3. I know about your music, which is quite crazy, I can describe it that way and that today no one plays like that anymore or maybe this vocal charmed me (it's more like my name is Seducer). How do you answer that?
* Thanks for your description and your feelings about the music.
I have to admit, many persons spoke about my vocals.
Of course, I know i’m working in a versatile way and power harsh vocals at the same time and I think this is that versatility which is remembered by people.
4. Let's look deeper: lyrics - where do they lead us and how far?
* So, you can find almost all the lyrics on the bandcamp and see where we want to go…
But no limit in theme and what we want to tell.
5. France, tell me how much it has changed and what it leads to in this world - a geopolitical question.
* I think you already know and you understand how much France has changed, this is far from the country we can read in history books.
Everythings finished, and we live in a ruined country in ruins dependent on others.
On the surface, the country appears prosperous and healthy but it's not,
And people suffering from government bad decisions from the last 40 years…
But i am not here to discuss about politics of my dead wonderful country. “La Glorieuse Morte” it's that! France !!
Of course it can be an influence on lyrics themes.

6. What bands are your inspiration, or maybe no one is and you play straight from the heart which is on your left side?
*I am playing from the depths of my heart and soul but…I have influences.
Actually, I can quote Powers from hell from Brazil, Deathspell Omega, Gorgon and Anorexia Nervosa from France, Furia, Odraza & Plaga from Poland, Gorgoroth and Darkthrone From Norway (of course…) and many more…
7. Plans for the future? Maybe a meeting with Varg since you live on the same French soil, or maybe you have other plans?
* Of course, plans. We planified to begin live shows. We hope soon.
We plan to release a new EP totally disturbed and crazy before our Grand second album which will be very ambitious!! You Will see…
And maybe a meeting with Varg will be awesome!
I won't be able to tell no if it could be possible.
8. Thank you for your time: the last words are yours, give the fans a message from your black hearts!
* We thanks to you for the support and maybe see you soon in your country to play live!
Trust the Serpent which is coming out from your throat….
